Ooredoo concluded its training program for the participants of its official Ooredoo Volunteer Program in its fourth consecutive year, in an awarding ceremony that took place last week at its head office. The awarding ceremony was attended by representatives of Ooredoo’s Corporate Communications department in addition to the participating volunteer groups and non-government entities which included Agrivage and Refood.

In its fourth year, Ooredoo’s volunteer program succeeded in attracting hundreds of participants who spearheaded a number of charitable initiatives, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. Volunteers managed the distribution of iftar meals via Ooredoo’s iftar tent, in addition to the charity truck that delivered iftar to different locations across Kuwait close to the residence of workers. The volunteer program participants have also organized a number of iftar banquets to share with government officials who work during the iftar shift as well as visits to the elderly care center. The volunteers also visited children’s hospital wards in association with the Kuwait Association for Care of Children in Hospitals to celebrate the gergi’aan with toys, spreading joy among the children.

In a statement to the press, Ooredoo Kuwait’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Sponsorship and Social Media Senior Manager Yousef Al-Shallal expressed his pride in all participants in the volunteer program, which underscore the company’s leading position in the field of volunteerism. He noted that the program embodies Ooredoo’s values of caring, connecting, and challenging, and come in tandem with the company’s corporate social responsibility policy which gives great importance to youth. Ooredoo’s award-winning volunteer program was launched in 2015 in collaboration with ‘Spread the Passion’ non-profit organization, with the aim of giving youth the necessary training before matching them with volunteering opportunities in Kuwait.
