Ooredoo volunteers participate in airport initiative
KUWAIT: Ooredoo Kuwait is participating through its volunteer program in the ‘Airport Friends’ initiative, which includes hundreds of youth working under the guidance and supervision of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The volunteers will be assisting travelers in the Kuwait Airport Main Terminal and the new Terminal 4 building. Ooredoo’s contribution to this initiative comes to reiterate its commitment to enrich the experience of youth in the field of volunteerism, and its continuous efforts to collaborate with government entities on nationwide initiatives.
In a statement to the press, Ooredoo Kuwait underscored the company’s commitment to translate its core values of caring, connecting, and challenging into actionable initiatives involving youth and corporate social responsibility. She noted that the company
is proud to be part of a national event such as the expansion of Kuwait International Airport, especially during the busy season of the summer, which coincides with the season of Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage. The volunteers are divided into three teams, working for four hours each, under the guidance and supervision of the consultant at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Fouad Boushehri.
Ooredoo Kuwait launched its volunteer program in 2015, aiming to help youth who have interest in the field of volunteerism by providing them with the necessary training before matching them with volunteer opportunities. Training provided include CPR, first aid, time management, in addition to other skills of relevance to youth today such as photography and video editing. The program attracted more than 300 participants this year, and its volunteer have worked on more than 120 initiatives since the start of the program. One of the main initiatives that the volunteers handle annually is the Ramadan iftar meal distribution, where they deliver hundreds of meals to the needy in various locations across Kuwait in addition the Ooredoo’s iftar tent.

entities, such as the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs and the Youth Public Authority, to support
youth and help them with different initiatives, with a great focus on charitable activities.
