Jabri was speaking after honoring Meshaal Al-Otaibi, a Kuwaiti engineer who had recently won a prize for the best scientific research in architecture at a conference in Paris, France, recently.
The government of Kuwait, he added, was relentless in its support of Kuwaiti youth and innovators. Otaibi won among 500 people from around the world at the 2nd European Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM). The engineer said he was proud to see flag of Kuwait hoisted high at the IEOM. Otaibi was nominated by US University of Kansas to participate in IEOM to represent the US, but he categorically rejected this and insisted on representing Kuwait.
Otaibi said after winning the award his scientific research aimed at determining the effect of air distribution systems in buildings and the thermal comfort for visitors and occupants of these buildings based on the height of the ceiling as well as reducing the amount of energy consumption by 40 percent. This research contributes to the preservation of the environment by saving energy and reducing the carbon footprint of buildings.
