The engineer said he was proud to see flag of Kuwait hoisted high at the IEOM. Otaibi was nominated by US University of Kansas to participate in IEOM to represent the US, but he categorically rejected this and insisted on representing Kuwait.

Otaibi said after winning the award his scientific research aimed at determining the effect of air distribution systems in buildings and the thermal comfort for visitors and occupants of these buildings based on the height of the ceiling as well as reducing the amount of energy consumption by 40 percent.
