Farwaniya police arrest ‘major drug dealer’

KUWAIT: Farwaniya police arrested a major drug dealer who attempted to attack them, resisted arrest and attempted to run them over, but his attempts failed. He will be sent to the Drugs Control General Department. Police learned about a bedoon man nicknamed “Mercurial Jahrawi”, who was known to trade in drugs in Farwaniya governorat­e. The suspect was then placed under surveillan­ce. Eight bags of shabu, hashish and drugs parapherna­lia were found with him.

Smuggling foiled

A Saudi man failed to smuggle 800 cartons of cigarettes in his car as Nuwaiseeb customs officers discovered the stash. The cigarettes have an estimated value of KD 5,600. The suspect and the contraband were sent to concerned authoritie­s.

Man escapes abusive wife

A Bangladesh­i man ran away from his abusive wife, so she reported him missing. When policemen brought him back, they learned that he had fled on his own will due to stress because of her mistreatme­nt, according to his statements. The man had refused to go with his wife at the beginning, but finally left the police station with her. The Sri Lankan woman had told Jahra police that her Bangladesh­i husband was missing and did not respond to her calls. Police then called him, and when he answered, they told him to come to the police station.

Motorcycle accident

A ruling family member was injured in a motorcycle accident in the south of the country. He was taken to Adan Hospital for treatment. Investigat­ions are underway to find out the reasons behind the accident.

Fugitive caught

Jahra police arrested a citizen and found out that he is wanted on 10 moneyrelat­ed cases after he was reported missing by his family. Police were able to locate him in a cafe in industrial Jahra and arrested him.
