EPA highlights significance of the ‘Green & Clean Environment’ Expo
KUWAIT: The Environment Public Authority (EPA) called to further the continuous attention put towards environmental issues and problems. In this regard, the ‘Green & Clean Environment Forum’, is set to open on Tuesday. It is to be organized by the Leaders Group Company for Consultancy and Development in collaboration with the EPA and a number of relevant ministries and bodies at Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Center from October 2nd to 3rd.
EPA’s PR manager Shaikha Al-Ibrahim issued a statement emphasizing the significance of the forum, the accompanying expo and the topics to be discussed noting that the topics can form short and long term patriotic priorities. Al-Ibrahim added that the forum could achieve many goals if the issues were well taken care of with the ultimate goal being the protection of natural resources and the further development of clean environmental resources in order to make the environment greener and resources more sustainable.
Furthermore, Al-Ibrahim stressed that the EPA has always focused on sustainable environment practices and encourages various initiatives calling for keeping pollution at the minimum possible levels while at the same time coping with the demands of urban expansion, population increases and the growing need for power generation and transport. Finally, She stressed that the success of such activities and the spread of a new environmental awareness culture would greatly help the EPA impose environment laws and protect the environment, especially as recent estimates of annual plastic wastes in Kuwait have reached an alarming 44 tons.
