KSSC honors its shooters
KUWAIT: Kuwait Shooting Sport Club (KSSC) honored its shooters who participated in the International Youth Championship and the Clay Targets Grand Prix that was held in Kazakhstan from September 17-27, in a ceremony attended by President of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Sport Federations, and Secretary General Obaid Al-Osaimi as well as Director of Information and Publication at the Public Authority for Sport Khalid Al-Subaie.
The shooters won four medals, as shooter Ahmad Nasser Al-Awwad claimed second place and the silver medal in the junior’s skeet, while the team of Ahmad Al-Awwad, Saud AlHamly, and Salman Al-Rashidi took third place and the bronze medal in the juniors team skeet event. Meanwhile, shooter Mansour Al-Rashidi won the bronze medal in the Grand Prix event, and Saud Al-Hamly won the silver medal in the juniors Grand Prix.
Secretary General of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations said this achievement is not something new and came through well thought off plans that were adopted by the board of directors, as well as the efforts of the technical and administrative departments, and the training by the shooter, particularly the junior shooters and their achievements, who are the future of Kuwait shooting.
Al-Osaimi dedicated this new achievement to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad AlSabah and Kuwaitis.
Al-Osaimi lauded the support of the Honorary President of Kuwait Shooting Sport Club Sheikh Salman Sabah AlSalem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah and Information Minister, State Minister for Youth Affairs Mohammad Nasser AlJabri and PAS and its Director General Dr Humoud Fulaiteh. He said the continued support of Kuwait shooting had a great effect in making the achievements and having the Kuwait flag flying high in world arenas at all levels. Meanwhile’ HH the Crown Prince Shooting tournament will start at the end of the week in the shotgun, 10 meter pistol and rifle as well as Olympic archery and will be concluded on Saturday. Kuwait Shooting Sport Club Treasurer Essa Butaiban said the organizing committee completed all preparations for the tournament and Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex is ready to host this important event that declares the start of the shooting season. He said the tournament will see very strong competition as the number of shooters who will participate is over 300 of all levels. He said registration will close on Tuesday.
