KUWAIT: Ooredoo Kuwait announced yesterday an agreement with SAP (NYSE: SAP) to provide a partner-managed cloud for SAP software solutions. Ooredoo will offer an affordable, ready-to-use, subscription-based offering of SAP solutions in its private hosted cloud, enabling customers to access SAP software quickly and easily without the need for up-front infrastructure costs associated with on-premise software deployments. Ooredoo was also the Gold Sponsor of the SAP NOW event in Kuwait under the management of the B2B Division, and is considered to be one of Kuwait’s largest technology events of the year. During a press conference held at the event, Director of B2B Marketing at Ooredoo Kuwait discussed Ooredoo’s role in the roadmap of Kuwait 2035.

Amine Tazi, Head of Strategy and Business Development, Ooredoo Kuwait, said: “We are happy to announce our strategic partnership with SAP and become the first and only telecom operator in Kuwait to provide Partner Managed cloud (PMC) for SAP software through our cutting edge cloud infrastructure. This is a new milestone for Ooredoo’s digital transformation journey and towards delivering our mission of becoming the one-stop-shop provider for our customers.”

“We can now offer our customers an end-to-end hosted service for SAP solutions, from software acquisition to ongoing support, all with one cloud delivery model,” said Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, B2B Senior Director. “Through our partner managed cloud, we will enable customers to rapidly benefit from the latest innovative SAP technologies without the need for capital expenditures. This will allow customers to focus on their business rather than their IT needs. This reiterates our commitment to embrace digitalization, and help businesses achieve more in this growing and essential sector.”

As a provider of a partner managed cloud, Ooredoo will provide customers with a cost-effective, on-demand, cloudbased delivery model of their SAP software solutions. Ooredoo will supplement these services with application migration, implementation, management, and support services along with the connectivity requirements of the customers

“Kuwait’s organizations are among the region’s digital leaders, with CIOs who understand the incredible business impact of adopting industry-leading cloud services from Ooredoo and SAP to drive new digital business models,” said Mohamed Helmy, Country Manager, SAP Kuwait. “Cloud solutions are essential for driving Kuwait organizations’ efficiency, collaboration, and business agility. Our partner managed cloud partnership with Ooredoo will help to accelerate the New Kuwait National Development Plan’s nationwide digital transformation goals to 2035 and beyond.”
