Burgan Bank supports Int’l Day of People with Disabilities
KUWAIT: Burgan Bank, one of the highest contributors to progress in society, sponsored ‘The International Day of People with Disabilities’ for the fourth consecutive year, in collaboration with the ‘Ideal Education School’ for students with special needs. Through the annual initiative, Burgan Bank emphasizes the need to encourage and facilitate the empowerment and inclusion of people with disabilities so they can fulfill their invaluable role in society. In addition to raising awareness about the topic and ensuring their equal rights, it is worth mentioning that Burgan Bank has been an avid supporter of the special needs segment due to their determination and resilience to challenge individual abilities and accomplish outstanding results in diverse fields.
As part of the sponsorship, the ‘Ideal Education School’ organized an ‘Open Fun Day’ on 19 November 2018, celebrating the International Day dedicated to special needs students, who enjoyed participating in different games, arts and crafts, magic shows, musical trampolines and more, providing an inclusive and memorable experience.
Burgan Bank remains a long-standing advocate of the disadvantaged, and continuously supports cultural and social initiatives that ensure the welfare of people with disabilities and facilitate their integration in society. The bank’s largest CSR initiative, ‘Al-Mass Awards’, that has been running for more than 13 years is dedicated exclusively to special needs groups, recognizing outstanding achievements of those who face physical, mental and sensory challenges. The bank is also the long-term sponsor of Kuwait’s world champion in wheelchair fencing and titleholder across regional and international competitions, Tareq Al-Qallaf. Additionally, Burgan Bank has six
fully-equipped branches that cater to the special needs’ requirements to ensure a banking experience with improved accessibility and the latest world-class technological applications.

This program sheds light on important aspects affecting every segment of the society by promoting social welfare through educational, cultural and health driven initiatives. Burgan Bank’s approach to ‘ENGAGE’ begins with a vital principle that as a leading Kuwaiti financial institution, its conduct and policies should be aligned with the needs and interests of the community.
