Amir meets French Armed Forces Minister, receives letter from Macron
Sheikh Sabah receives Saudi Royal Court Advisor, Egyptian Foreign Minister
KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace yesterday First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly as she handed over a written letter to His Highness the Amir from French President Emmanuel Macron on bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways of strengthening them.
Parly said that the Kuwaiti-French relations are improving in various fields. “The relationship between Kuwait and France is very deep and is improving year after year. We had a very massive military exercise called ‘Pearl of The West’ which finished a few days ago. And it was extremely demanding but very successful, it shows how deep the relationship is,” Minister Parly said. “We discussed with my colleague about many projects Kuwait and France have developed in the industrial corporation on the military side and we would like very much to improve it. There are many projects and we are very confident in our ability to conclude such projects,” she pointed out.
“It is my first visit here in Kuwait and I was extremely glad for the warm hospitality of the Kuwait authorities that was provided to the French delegation and we look forward to welcome the Minister of Defense in France very soon,” Minister Parly said. “We intend to develop even further the relationship between the military staffs and of course we look forward to continuing to train the Kuwaiti cadets,” she noted.
Kuwait-Saudi relations Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir received Saudi Royal Court Advisor Prince Turki Bin Mohammad Al-Saud. During the meeting, he handed over a letter to His Highness the Amir from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud on bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways of strengthening them.
His Highness the Amir also received Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry as he handed over a written letter to His Highness the Amir from Egypt’s President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi on bilateral relations between the two countries and latest regional and international developments. Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah also attended the meetings.
National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak AlHamad Al-Sabah also received the visiting Egyptian minister. Senior officials attended the two separate meetings. — KUNA
