AUB kicks off registration for ‘Fun Run’ charity event
KUWAIT: As part of its dynamic community initiatives, Ahli United Bank announced commencing registration for the “Fun Run” charity event organized by the Bank for the second year in row to reflect its commitment to be closer to the community it serves through raising awareness about the importance of preserving and protecting the environment. This event is part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that gives priority to youth and the environment in line with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah’s “New Kuwait 2035 Vision”.
The AUB Fun Run will take place
on the 14th of December 2019 in Kuwait City. Commenting on this activity, Mrs. Sahar Dashti, General Manager of Customer Protection and the head of AUB CSR Team, invited all age groups to participate in this event, emphasizing that each participant is considered a contributor in achieving His Highness the Amir’s vision, which considers the environment one of its main pillars. “Supporting the implementation of the vision is a source of pride for every contributor and participant”.
Mrs. Dashti said: “The exceptional success we achieved in this initiative last year was demonstrated by the surprising level of participation through an unexpected number of contestants. The participants included people of determination who showed great enthusiasm to contribute to the success of the event, which motivated us to continue developing this event year after year”.
Mrs. Dashti noted that all the proceeds from this event will be dedicated for planting palm trees through
Al-Najat Charitable Society. Then the Society will distribute the harvested dates to support vulnerable families. This means that the “Fun Run” event will have environmental, social and humanitarian contributions under the slogan “Plant Palm Trees with Your Steps”.
Dashti affirmed: “The Bank’s passion to encourage group sports is reflected by organizing and supporting such an event with the aim of promoting a culture of teamwork to foster the values of fair competition. At the same time, such activities have an active role in the development of mental and physical abilities for different age groups, which in turn has encouraged us to increase the number of prize categories for the winners.”
The early bird registration in AUB Fun Run is ongoing until the end of October 2019 through (www.events.provision.com/event/detail/304). After that date, there will be a special discount for group registrations of 10 participants or more.
