NBK organizes Masterclas­s on embracing a better tomorrow

KUWAIT: The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) organized a Masterclas­s entitled ‘Leading the Future: Having the Courage to Create A Better Future,’ delivered by Peter Fisk, a professor of strategy, innovation and marketing who advises on fast-changing markets around the world. The Masterclas­s was attended by number of NBK officials. The Masterclas­s covered the fundamenta­ls as well as the drivers of innovation and disruption in the workplace, in addition to ways to generate new ideas from inspiring figures around the world, who successful­ly managed to redefine their businesses in an unpreceden­ted matter and in a short time.

He also showcased the prerequisi­tes of an innovation-friendly environmen­t and the factors that encourage opening up to new ideas and exploring untraditio­nal and innovative solutions that help overcome challenges related to disruptive change in the workplace. Fisk shed light on case studies comprising more than 250 mega businesses and startups to learn about their incredible business models that inspired innovation and disruption. He cited the world’s most disruptive businesses and brands, in addition to the experience­s of several internatio­nal industries to develop an innovative business model.

Game changers in fields of technology and services resorted to see the world from a different perspectiv­e, and they reshaped their businesses and shook up their markets right. He also provided the big ideas to change the game, namely, design thinking; embracing insight to understand the deeper motivation­s and aspiration­s of customers, through deep-dive immersion with individual­s, connecting analytics with observatio­n and intuition. Additional­ly, Fisk spoke of his book ‘Gamechange­rs,’ where he confirmed that game changers find their own space, then shape it in their own vision. Most of all they have great ideas. They outthink their competitio­n, thinking bigger and different. They don’t believe in being slightly cheaper or slightly better.

Peter Fisk is a professor of leadership, strategy, and innovation at IE Business School.
