-

In collaboration with the ministry of state for youth affairs, the Sabah Al-Ahmed Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC); a subsidiary of Kuwait Foundation for The Advancement of Science (KFAS), recently launched a workshop on technology for children aged 7 to 17. The workshop will be from November 28 at the Avenues Arcades Zone. Speaking on the occasion, undersecretary of the ministry of state for youth affairs, Dr Meshaal Al-Shaheen said that this workshop marks the start of a new era of the ministry’s activities designed to provide interactive educational environments for learners.

“The ministry opted to shifting from seminars, lectures and theoretical conferences to practical interactive programs”, Al-Shaheen added noting that the workshop aims at occupying youth free time by developing their scientific skills through the “Professional Entrepreneurs’ and “My Creative Youth Role” programs.

On his part, SACGC manager, Dr Omar Al-Bannai stressed that it was the first time to cooperate with the youth ministry which would foster youth creativity and develop it. “According to KFAS board instructions, the center will be responsible for taking care of the youth in evening hours and make the best use of that free time”, he underlined noting that the workshops provide a number of training courses especially designed to develop learners’ skills in terms of technology and creativity. Al-Bannai added that a scientific workshop was opened in Al-Qadisiya and another one had been opened a month earlier in Jahra while two more are being prepared to be held in Ahmadi and Farwaniya.
