Xerox presents ‘roadmap to efficient workplace’
KUWAIT: On the sidelines of the seventh e-Government Forum, Helmi Abudheir, Solutions Business Manager at Xerox Middle East Operations, told Kuwait Times about Xerox’s participation in the forum during the session of smart government supporting technologies.
Abudheir spoke at the forum about Xerox intelligent workplace services, the roadmap to an efficient workplace and a secure environment. “Today Xerox talks about intelligent work environment and how we can transform that environment from using a traditional system to be smarter. I also spoke about how we can drive this change and help the government sector move forward from this type of service to more modern ones,” he said.
Regarding essential security, he said Xerox as a document company deals with digital documents as physical documents. A document has a life cycle and steps to be digitalized, adding that workflow assessment is the first step in identifying business processes that would benefit from automation.
“Document security is an important part of any business. The physical document traditionally goes through the printer inside the office and if I print it, it will directly be printed and may expose information. With our service, you can secure your document in the printer so the document will only be released upon the person’s request or fingerprint. Xerox identifies, measures and documents current processes and provides a roadmap for implementing an efficient and effective process,” Abudheir explained.
He added that the document can be delivered digitally and signed electorally, and the in-charge person doesn’t even have to present in the country. In that case there will be no failure in recognizing who signed this document. Subsequently, you can trust a document, and this digital solution can also save more time. “We have customizable equipment - big government entities can customize it with a biometric (fingerprint) if the information is very sensitive.” Abudheir pointed out Xerox will help streamline and automate government processes to drive growth, reduce costs and transform papers into digital ones.
Ayman Mattar, General Manager, Technology Group at Yusuf A Alghanim and Sons, said Alghanim has been representing Xerox in Kuwait exclusively since 1991. “We are operating in the Kuwaiti market since then with the full fleet of technical expertise and credited resources, from sales, pre-sales and delivery services to cover the Kuwaiti market directly,” he said.
“We directly cooperate with the Kuwaiti government, where we are working with Xerox and government sectors to provide the services needed. When we see the New Kuwait 2035 vision, and how great the government is in leading innovation, it is great to be a part of such a plan to play a mega role helping the government reach their goal of digitalization that they are looking for. We are hoping to be seen as a strategic government partner to offer Xerox solutions and turn it into the reality of tomorrow,” Mattar said.
