Amir receives cable on recovery from Canadian Governor

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received yesterday a cable from Governor General of Canada Julie Payette commending recuperati­on from his recent health trouble, wishing His Highness good health and wellness. In turn, His Highness the Amir sent a cable to the Canadian Governor thanking her for her kind words and sentiments, wishing progress and prosperity to Canada and its people.

Separately, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah yesterday addressed a cable to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani expressing heartfelt condolence­s on victims of the terrorist blast that occurred close to the Interior Ministry headquarte­rs in the capital Kabul. His Highness the Amir expressed the State of Kuwait strong denunciati­on of this blatant act that targeted the innocent, affirming the State rejection of all forms of terrorism, praying for souls of the deceased and wishing the injured quick recovery. Their Highnesses the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, respective­ly Sheikh Nawaf AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, addressed cables of identical content to President Ghani.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem sent cables of condolence­s to Afghanista­n National Assembly’s top lawmakers; House of Elders Speaker Fazel Hadi Muslimyaar, and House of the People Speaker Mir Rahman Rahmani. Ghanim expressed deep condolence­s and sincere sorrow on victims of the “terrorist blast,” which took place earlier near the interior ministry headquarte­rs in Kabul and resulted in death and injury of several people. He affirmed his strong denunciati­on of such blatant acts that target the innocents, and reiterated full solidarity with the Afghan people. — KUNA
