Crown Prince, defense minister meet commander of US Central Command
Sheikh Nawaf hosts premier, ministers at Bayan Palace
KUWAIT: His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti Army Lieutenant General Mohammad Khaled AlKhadher and Commander of the US Central Command, Marine Corps General Kenneth McKenzie, along with an accompanying delegation, at Bayan Palace yesterday. Head of protocol at His Highness the Crown Prince Diwan, Sheikh Mubarak Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, attended the meeting. Earlier yesterday, His Highness the Crown Prince received His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber AlMubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace. His Highness Sheikh Nawaf also received Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met with General McKenzie, and the two sides discussed their close ties and joint cooperation in various fields and on all levels, particularly military affairs. Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah also held talks yesterday with China’s Vice Minister of Commerce Qian Keming. The two sides discussed their joint trade cooperation and exchanged views on topics of joint interest, and ways to enhance them, the defense ministry said in a press statement. They also reviewed the possibilities to benefit from Chinese ideas and expertise in growth and development fields for various projects, of which Kuwait aspires to implement as part of its 2035 vision, added the statement. —KUNA
