Kuwait bowling team has a ‘bright future’
KUWAIT: Kuwait bowling national team player Jassim Al-Saqer said the game has a bright future, as it made a quality move during the past short period, by the opening of Kuwait Bowling Center, which is considered the best in the Middle East, and one of the most prominent in the world, that in addition to an ambitious strategy by the board of directors to transform Kuwait into an international bowling center, by hosting the strongest world championships, that in addition to the interest in establishing a large base of juniors and beginners and have them physically and technically ready by competent trainers. He said the development plan began in 2007 and started to make results in few years.
Al-Saqer lauded President of International, and Asian Bowling Federations, Chairman of Kuwait Bowling Club Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah and board members for their role in the giant leap Kuwait bowling had made in a short time, with a plan that has many stages that made Kuwait bowling team the best in Arabia, and among the best four teams in Asia, besides South Korea, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, and this is said through achievements made by Kuwait athletes in all categories.
Al-Saqer who won the Asia’s youth teams gold medal in 2007, and the bronze medal for teams and individuals in 2009, and the silver medal of the Asian championship held in Kuwait October 2019, said Kuwait team seeks more achievements in Asia’s 26th Championship to be held next year. He said Kuwait team is able to win more medals in the four categories as they are experienced and skilled to do so.
Al-Saqer said Kuwait bowling awaits a busy year of important international events, and the first abroad event will be in Sweden at the start of January 2020. Followed by another in Finland Open Bowling Championship.
He said “We will participate to compete for top places, and the world championship Kuwait will host in 2020 will be the crown of championships.”
It is worth mentioning that Kuwait team has 15 players who train 3 hours daily, five days a week.
