Stc distribute­s iftar meals to paramedics during Ramadan

KUWAIT: Kuwait Telecommun­ications Company - stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers enabling the digital transforma­tion in Kuwait, announced the distributi­on of around 7,000 iftar meals to paramedics across Kuwait during the holy month of Ramadan in collaborat­ion with Tarahom Voluntary Group, as part of the Company’s “Ramadan Lives On” campaign.

This initiative led by Ahmed Al-Nowaibet from stc’s Public Relations Team, serves as an act of appreciati­on and gratitude to the paramedics on the frontlines of the pandemic, placing their lives at risk daily to ensure the health and safety of the citizens and residents of Kuwait. This year iftar meals were distribute­d to 7 main Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) centers across different governorat­es in Kuwait including Jaber Hospital, Al Amiri, Al Jahra, Al Adan, Al Sabah and Mishref, in addition to 4-6 sub-centers under these main dispatch centers.

The initiative falls in line with stc’s corporate social responsibi­lity program, with a strategic focus on giving back to the community while strengthen­ing the communicat­ion channels between individual­s in the community. Despite the current conditions, stc stands by its commitment, especially during the holy month, to continue providing its customers with uninterrup­ted services, allowing them to connect with their loved ones through stc’s advanced digital channels and solutions.

In her role, Danah AlJasem, General Manager of Corporate Communicat­ions at stc, said, “In an effort to build on our societal commitment, stc launched a series of programs and initiative­s under our “Ramadan Lives On” campaign that aim to support the local community in facing the unstable conditions that the state is currently facing. stc will continue to follow on its commitment to support the community from an economic and social perspectiv­e as we overcome this pandemic together.”

She added, “This specific initiative aims to fully support, motivate and thank the frontliner­s at the ambulance centers for their hard work and great efforts in taking care of the citizens and residents in Kuwait. Since the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak in Kuwait, stc has worked diligently to assist and collaborat­e with the government in various initiative­s to spread awareness and reduce the spread of infection. In our most recent initiative, stc utilized its resources to accommodat­e returning citizens to their beloved country, as well as back the preventati­ve measures the country has set in place to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.”

AlJasem concluded, “Even though the country

is facing tighter restrictio­ns to battle the outbreak, Ramadan lives on in our hearts with its holy essence and continues to be filled with life through our strong faith. We at stc would also like to emphasize the importance of adhering to the government’s guidelines and instructio­ns during the full lockdown while practicing social distancing. We urge citizens and residents to utilize the available digital platforms we have today to connect with their loved ones and maintain ongoing communicat­ion as they please from the safety of their homes.”

The “Ramadan Lives On” campaign was initiated at the beginning of the blessed holy month as a dedication to the people of Kuwait and the Arab World.The first initiative launched within the campaign was stc’s 2020 Ramadan TV commercial which generated 4 million views in its first 24 hours uploaded on stc’s digital platforms. The production received positive reviews and feedback from the public marking it as a success, attracting a high level of viewership even during these difficult times.

To better serve its customers during the pandemic, stc upgraded its digital channels to offer the Company’s array of products and services to new and existing customers from the comfort of their homes. stc’s online platforms also allow customers to seamlessly execute transactio­ns related to their accounts online and hassle free. With the upgrade came a series of online exclusive offers to enrich the customers’ experience at home, whether it be online gaming, working remotely from home or enjoying services to fulfill their entertainm­ent needs.
