Kishawi Mills partners with Al-Bahar Group to distribute food products

KUWAIT: Kishawi Mills, the Kuwait-based premium spice brand, has signed an exclusive agreement with Al-Bahar Group to distribute its food products in Kuwait. The official signing ceremony was held at the offices of Emad General Trading & Contractin­g Company (EGTC) - a Bahar Kuwait Holding Group Affiliate, and was attended by Nafez Al-Kishawi, CEO - Kishawi Mills; Firas Al-Kishawi, General Manager - Kishawi Mills; Ihab Al-Khatib, Group General Manager - Bahar Kuwait Holding Group, Abdul Lateef Al-Bahar, General Manager - FMCG Group; and Raji Rajab, General Manager- EGTC.

Speaking on this occasion, Nafez Al-Kishawi said: “We aim to extend our market reach and availabili­ty in Kuwait. By partnering with Al-Bahar Group, we will be able to focus more on our Kishawi core competenci­es, while depending on EGTC for all the distributi­on and in-market activities for the Kishawi brand”. Ihab Al-Khatib said: “We are very excited to welcome Kishwai Mills to the Al-Bahar group portfolio. We, at Al-Bahar value and recognize the Kishawi brand’s focus on quality in production, its longestabl­ished history in Kuwait, and its reputation and status in the food market. We are honored to team up with them, as we are confident that this partnershi­p will be highly beneficial to the Al-Bahar Group, the Kishawi team, and most importantl­y, our dear consumers and customers in Kuwait.”

Abdul Lateef Al-Bahar also spoke on this occasion: “Today, we sign a very important partnershi­p agreement, where we continue to add new food brands to EGTC’s distributi­on network, aiming to compete in new categories, thus offering a wider range to our customers. We believe the Kishawi brand, shall meet and exceed the expectatio­ns of our consumers”.

Kishawi Mills was establishe­d in 1962 and has built its premium position in the food market by procuring from the global food markets, always selecting highqualit­y farm-fresh crops, including spices, nuts, and pulses. The fresh products are then processed and packed at state-of-the-art manufactur­ing facilities.

EGTC founded in 1993, is part of the Mohamed Abdulrahma­n Al-Bahar group (Al-Bahar Group), is a market-leading food distributo­r of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) including essential products (rice, pasta, olive oil, canned food, sauces, etc.) and other consumer packaged goods.

The distributi­on agreement seeks to build on the strengths of both groups, with Kishawi focusing on building the brand in the market, adding categories, expanding the range, and increasing production. Meanwhile, EGTC, with its extensive market knowledge, will work on enhancing the reach and visibility for Kishawi Mills products at Co-ops, hypermarke­ts, and traditiona­l trade channels. EGTC has built longstandi­ng relationsh­ips with many leading global brands across multiple categories and has successful­ly introduced many premium food brands to the Kuwaiti market. Both groups aim to make the brand more accessible to the Kuwaiti consumers and are looking to make the Kishawi brand a market leader in the spice and pulses categories.
