Sports federation, Coop union cooperate in sports initiative
The Kuwait Sports Federation and the Union of Cooperative Societies discussed cooperation frameworks between them and mutual coordination to find a mechanism to urge the community to practice sports.
During the meeting held on Sunday at the headquarters of the Union of Cooperative Societies, the two parties indicated that the responsibility lies on everyone to advance society and maintain its physical health as one of the foundations for creating a healthy society free of diseases associated with obesity and others.
In this regard, the President of the Kuwait Sports for All Federation, Mahmoud Abul, said in a press statement that the Federation is working to strengthen cooperation with all government and private institutions in the framework of supporting the sports movement in society and encouraging all its groups to practice sports.
Abul expressed his wishes for success in achieving the great goals of the federation by spreading health awareness and concerted efforts of the public and private sectors to achieve the federation’s goals to confront modern diseases and other diseases associated with obesity through exercise and access to a healthy society.
“We have many events that will be held in the future through the working committees of the Federation, the first of which (sports villages) will start on January 11,” he said calling on everyone to actively participate in these villages dedicated to all groups and segments of society. He stated that the Union opens its doors to the accession of all volunteers, amateurs and owners of initiatives and ideas that promote and contribute to achieving the desired goals in the Union.
In a similar statement, the President of the Union of Cooperative Societies, Musab Al-Mulla, expressed his happiness to cooperate with the Kuwait Sports Federation in enriching the community with sporting events held by the federation.
Al-Mulla added that the Union of Cooperative Societies will work to extend a hand of cooperation to guide associations to urge shareholders to participate widely in sports events.
He pointed out that the meeting discussed the mechanism for enhancing ways of cooperation in the future in the activities of the federation and that cooperation is not limited to (sports villages) only, with the aim of creating a healthy society physically and psychologically through these recreational activities.
