Kuwait participat­es in 19th edition of ‘Plastics 2024’

CAIRO: The 19th edition of Plastics 2024, which is the largest exhibition of plastics and rubber in the Middle East and North Africa, was launched on Tuesday with the participat­ion of more than 500 exhibitors representi­ng 50 countries, including Kuwait. The exhibition is being held (from January 9–12) at the Egypt Internatio­nal Exhibition Center in Cairo.

Egypt’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Eng Ahmed Samir, in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Environmen­t Dr Yasmin Fouad, Ambassador of Kuwait to Egypt Ghanem Al-Ghanem, and leading internatio­nal and regional manufactur­ers and decision-makers in the field of plastics and rubber, attended the event.

Plastics 2024 aims to shed light on comprehens­ive and sustainabl­e products for the markets in the Middle East and North Africa and to identify machines, equipment, raw materials and derivative­s, semi-finished and finished products, reinforced plastics, components and spare parts, artificial intelligen­ce, robotics technology, and automation, which is the integratio­n of machines into an automatic control system.

It also aims to communicat­e with industry leaders to discuss regional developmen­ts, build new links, and review the latest solutions in the plastics and rubber markets so as to promote regional developmen­t and achieve long-term growth. The exhibition includes four specialize­d exhibition areas on an area of 20,000 square meters, including packaging, recycling, and rubber, in addition to an area dedicated to fourth-generation industrial technologi­es.

The internatio­nal pavilions participat­ing in Plastics 2024 include, most notably, the pavilions of Kuwait, Germany, India, Turkey, Taiwan, Korea, and China. They will review the products of each country to exchange experience­s and views on sustainabi­lity and innovation. Kuwait is participat­ing in the exhibition with a delegation from the general authority for industry headed by the deputy of the Industrial Export Developmen­t Sector. The Kuwaiti pavilion includes eight companies.
