Kuwaiti academic underlines need for partnershi­ps

ABU DHABI: The Deputy Director of Kuwait University for Academics, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Rafie, stressed on Monday the importance of building strategic partnershi­ps with GCC universiti­es in the fields of cybersecur­ity and artificial intelligen­ce to meet the growing digital challenges. Kuwait participat­ed in the 26th meeting of heads and directors of universiti­es and higher education institutio­ns in the GCC that was hosted by the United Arab Emirates University in Dubai. The meeting was a platform for the exchange of experience­s and ideas between countries, Al-Rafe told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

The meeting touched on many important topics to meet the challenges and requiremen­ts of modern technologi­es in teaching and learning, including the importance of coordinati­on between universiti­es in the fields of research, e-learning, academic programs, profession­al and academic developmen­t, volunteer work, and student exchange.

He explained that during the meeting, several topics were approved, including the establishm­ent of a website for the secretaria­ts of Joint Work Committees, an amendment to the organizing list of awards, and preparatio­n for the upcoming meetings of the committee, in addition to building alliances related to cybersecur­ity and artificial intelligen­ce. He also applauded the adoption of the unified guide for integrated education prepared by Kuwait University and the Saudi Electronic University, stressing the importance of the meeting in supporting the process of joint cooperatio­n between universiti­es and higher education institutio­ns to build an advanced Gulf society.
