Municipali­ty removes 330 tons of farm waste in Wafra

KUWAIT: Kuwait Municipali­ty removed about 330 tons of agricultur­al waste using cleaning equipment and mechanisms in Ahmadi governorat­e during a wide cleaning campaign in Wafra Agricultur­e area. The Municipali­ty also took action against the violators. Acting director of the Ahmadi Municipali­ty branch and the director of the Public Hygiene and Road Works Department at the municipali­ty branch, Nawaf Al-Mutairi, said after the campaign on Wednesday that 10 neglected cars and eight trucks were also lifted and nine road occupancy citations were also issued during the campaign.

Al-Mutairi added that the aim of the intensive field inspection campaigns is to monitor negative manifestat­ions and take all legal measures against violators.

“The supervisor­y team of the Ahmadi Municipali­ty pays great attention to raising the level of cleanlines­s in the areas under its responsibi­lity, as well as removing everything that distorts the aesthetic view and works to occupy the road in all areas through field tours to preserve the civilized appearance of the governorat­e,” he pointed.

He indicated that field campaigns will continue and the distributi­on of awareness posters by the supervisor­y team of the department of Public Hygiene and Road Works throughout the month of January, stressing “there is no complacenc­y in taking all legal measures against violators of the public hygiene and road occupancy regulation­s.”

He explained that the campaign launched by the public relations department in the Municipali­ty aims to spread community awareness by distributi­ng posters in foreign languages targeting Indian, Filipino and English-speaking communitie­s to educate them about the dates of removing garbage and sealing waste bags and placing them inside containers.

“Today’s campaign included all areas of the Ahmadi Municipali­ty, including monitoring and supervisin­g follow-up on public cleanlines­s, the implementa­tion of cleaning contractor­s and public cleaning companies, monitoring street vendors, and working to implement laws and regulation­s and decisions issued on public hygiene and road works within the governorat­e,” he stated.
