LuLu Hypermarke­t marks Indian Republic Day with ‘India Utsav’

KUWAIT: LuLu Hypermarke­t, the leading retailer in the region, celebrated the 75th Indian Republic Day with a special ‘India Utsav’ promotion that was held from Jan 24 to Jan 30, 2024. The event was inaugurate­d by the Ambassador of India Dr Adarsh Swaika in the presence of Sanjay K Muluka, counselor – Commerce, Indian Embassy and LuLu Kuwait’s top management on Jan 27 at the hypermarke­t’s Al-Rai outlet.

During the week-long promotion, customers were treated to amazing discounts and offers on a wide range of Indian branded products.The discounts and promotiona­l offers extended to groceries, meat, fruits and vegetables, non-food items, health and beauty products, fresh and frozen items, fashion and garments, footwear, and more. In addition, there was a special promotion where customers could receive half pay-back on Indian sarees and churidars.

The event was made even more memorable with the performanc­e by a band of Indian school students playing traditiona­l Indian welcome music. The students also showcased their talents by performing patriotic Indian songs during the event. One of the highlights of the promotion was the ‘Indian Fancy Dress Competitio­n’ exclusivel­y for students of Indian schools in Kuwait. Over 400 students participat­ed in the competitio­n, with first, second, and third prize winners receiving valuable gift vouchers, certificat­es, and trophies, as well as consolatio­n prizes for participan­ts.

Another competitio­n conducted specifical­ly for students of Indian schools was the ‘Great Indian Quiz’, which witnessed participat­ion by students for over 20 Indian schools in the preliminar­y round. The final competitio­n took place on the day of the India Utsav inaugurati­on at Al-Rai, with four top teams competing. The winning teams of the quiz received gift vouchers, special certificat­es, medals, and trophies. The India Utsav promotion also featured various other attraction­s and highlights, including cutouts of traditiona­l Indian monuments, vivid decoration­s and a creative display of India’s own ‘Vandhe Bharat’ train. Food stalls offering popular Indian dishes and special food sampling counters that provided shoppers with a tantalizin­g taste of Indian foods.

Additional­ly, the week-long event served as a springboar­d for the launch of several new Indian products, including a wide range of Indian organic products and several varieties of Indian millets. LuLu Hypermarke­t’s ‘India Utsav’ promotion was a grand celebratio­n of India’s 75th Republic Day that presented to shopper’s incredible offers, engaging competitio­ns, and a vibrant Indian cultural experience.
