Amir launches national festivities

Sheikh Mishal attends flag-hoisting ceremony at Bayan Palace, luncheon at Azayez farm

A Kuwaiti flag-hoisting ceremony took place at Bayan Palace on Wednesday under the patronage and in the presence of HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, launching nationwide celebrations to mark the country’s national occasions. National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Saadoun, HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, President of Kuwait’s Supreme Judicial Council and Head of the Court of Cassation Adel Bouresli and senior state officials attended the event.

The motorcade of HH the Amir arrived at the venue and was given a 21-gun salute and warm welcome by the personnel of the army, police and National Guard. HH the Amir then hoisted the flag and the National Anthem was played. The Kuwaiti people cherish the national flag-hoisting occasion, reminiscing about the great accomplishments made in all fields and domains and reiterating loyalty and belonging to the dear homeland.

Also on Wednesday, in presence of HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal, HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr Mohammad, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AlQuds Fund and Endowment Prince Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Al-Sabah family members, a luncheon was held by Sheikh Ali Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at Azayez farm in Kuwait’s northern Abdaly area. This year’s celebration of the 63rd National Day and 33rd Liberation Day ushers in a fresh era and honorable march under the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal, who recently took the helm, succeeding late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to lead the country to new horizons of development and progress. – KUNA
