Kuwait Entrepreneurs Association launches new initiative

-

The Kuwait Entrepreneurs Association announced the launch of an initiative entitled “We Dream for a More Beautiful Reality” to support national employment, contain new graduates, and support entrepreneurs. The President of the Association, Eng. Saeed Al-Mana, said that the initiative seeks to address obstacles and submit proposals to enable small and medium enterprises to be the alternative tributary to support the economy. This is done through cooperation with the Council of Ministers, its working committees, government agencies, unions, and associations of employers in civil society.

The aim is to encourage new graduates to launch their own projects and enter into competition in the private sector. Al-Mana added: “The most prominent thing we look forward to in this initiative is to ensure a safe future for business owners by providing a supportive

work environment for them and their projects, especially since their dreams and projects are the first and last financial source for them in the absence of government support. We look forward to developing the main axes of this initiative to correct and amend some of the most important obstacles facing the business environment in order to improve it.”

He pointed out that the team identified 10 obstacles facing the business environment and small and medium enterprises. These include the continuous change in the decisions of the competent authorities, the lack of government decisions that help entrepreneurs to continue, maintain the stability of their work environment, protect them from unfair competition, and the absence of job security.

Al-Mana pointed out that the obstacles also include “the lack of industrial, agricultural, service, and storage land that can support business activities at reasonable prices, complications in the field of government procedures related to licensing procedures, and the length of the documentary cycle in the implementation of transactions in some entities.” Al-Mana stated that the delay of government agencies in disbursing the dues of owners of small and medium enterprises was due to their limited participation in development projects.
