Kuwaiti medical team travels to Gaza to provide assistance

- 45th relief plane

A Kuwaiti medical team, compromising of surgeons and other health professionals, will enter the Gaza Strip to provide much-needed assistance, said the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Thursday. Head of KRCS operations Dr. Musa’ad Al-Enezi told KUNA that the team would provide treatment to the Gazan people who face daily aggression by Zionist occupation forces. The team - currently in Al-Arish city, Egypt - would perform surgeries and give treatments to thousands of those injured in the ongoing onslaught, he added. The KRCS official affirmed that the society would be coordinating with the Egyptian and Palestinians Red Crescent societies to facilitate the four-member team’s entry into Gaza through the Rafah border crossing until they reach those in need of medical care.

The 45th relief plane from the Kuwaiti air bridge took off from the Abdullah Mubarak Air Base, heading to Amman airport in Jordan with 10 tons of relief materials on board. The relief materials will be transported to the Gaza Strip to support the Palestinians. The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) confirmed to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) before takeoff, the continuation of the assistance of the society and the Kuwaiti air bridge to support the people in Gaza in accordance with the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

KRCS pointed to the great role played by Kuwait as a center for global humanitarian action and its standing beside Palestinians, especially those in the Gaza Strip, in the face of the aggression of the Zionist occupation forces. The humanitarian assistance comes within the framework of Kuwait’s full support for Palestinians in the face of the difficult humanitarian conditions they are currently facing as a result of the continuation of the destructive Zionist aggression.

The relief planes are accompanied by volunteers to deliver humanitarian aid to the Jordanian Red Crescent. KRCS expressed thanks to the Kuwaiti ministries of foreign affairs and defense for their keenness to communicate constantly, provide for all the needs of the Palestinian people, and facilitate the transfer of aid. The campaign ‘Save Palestine’ aims to support Palestinians, especially those in the Gaza Strip, through the provision of food and medical supplies.
