New health center in Abdaly to serve 13,000 patients: Awadhi
New facility donated by Al-Ghanim comes under MoH’s 100-day plan
KUWAIT: Minister of Health Ahmad Al-Awadhi said on Saturday that the newly-launched Ali Mohammad Thunayan Al-Ghanim Health Center in Abdali area in Kuwait’s north-western Jahra governorate would serve as many as 13,000 patients. While opening the new center, the minister told reporters that the medical facility, which would function round-the-clock, is home to, inter alia, a laboratory, a pharmacy and 10 clinics and a dental radiology department.
Funded by Kuwaiti citizen Ali Al-Ghanim, the center comes in the context of the Health ministry’s 100-day action plan, the minister pointed out.
The minister pointed out that the center also includes a residential section for workers, which includes four apartments. The center comes within the government’s 100-day work plan and program to which the Ministry of Health and the government of the State of Kuwait are committed.
Ali Al-Ghanim said in a similar statement, “This donation comes within the framework of the contributions made by the people of Kuwait to serve the country,” noting that the residents of the Abdali area and farm owners were waiting for this important occasion with the inauguration of a health center that provides various health services to the region.
Al-Ghanim affirmed his complete readiness to contribute to any step that would provide more services to the people of Kuwait.
In turn, the head of the primary healthcare unit in the Jahra Health district, Dr Maryam Al-Ajmi, said in a statement, “We have been waiting for the opening of a health center in Abdali for ten years that provides a high-quality health service and is one of the necessary requirements of this era.”
Al-Ajmi confirmed that the goal of the center is to provide a comprehensive primary healthcare and is not limited to treating urgent and emergency cases, but extends to include chronic disease clinics, a small operating room, and a large observation room.
