Amir hails defense forces

Sheikh Mishal visits ministry of defense, National Guard

KUWAIT: HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah affirmed confidence in the country’s armed forces and its sectors, which defend and sacrifice for the dear homeland. This came in a speech by HH the Amir during his visit to the ministry of defense on Monday, accompanie­d by HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

HH the Amir appreciate­d the ministry of defense’s keenness to enhance its combat capabiliti­es, raising the level of training and defense readiness, under exceptiona­l circumstan­ces in the regional arena, pushing towards achieving the highest levels of alertness and readiness for the armed forces.

HH the Amir also expressed gratitude for the efforts made by the naval force, in cooperatio­n and coordinati­on with the general administra­tion of the coast guard to achieve the highest levels of readiness to preserve the security of the nation and the safety of its territoria­l waters. HH the Amir congratula­ted the ministry of defense on the 50th anniversar­y of its establishm­ent of the facilities engineerin­g department, which is an incubator of the initiative­s and creativity of Kuwaiti youth, praising its role in preserving the environmen­t.

During his speech, HH the Amir instructed the ministry’s leadership to establish the rules of justice

and impartiali­ty and take all legal measures to preserve public money. HH the Amir also instructed them to intensify inspection tours and pay attention to infrastruc­ture, especially warehouses of military machinery and equipment.

Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army Maj Gen Bandar Al-Muzain expressed pride on the visit of HH the Amir, congratula­ting him on the holy month of Ramadan. He also noted that the ministry of defense, in its various military and civilian sectors, strives, through its work, to find lasting compatibil­ity and harmony with the government action plan.

HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also visited on Monday the Kuwait National Guard and delivered a speech on the occasion. HH the Amir said he is pleased with this visit which coincides with the blessed month of Ramadan, and in confirmati­on of the great values and authentic principles that our dear Kuwaiti leadership and people have upheld throughout the years.

HH the Amir congratula­ted its leadership, commanders and affiliates on this holy month, praying to Almighty Allah for many returns to our Islamic and Arab nations, our beloved homeland and its honorable people, with goodness and blessings.

“My brothers and sons (guardians of the homeland): This place has witnessed over decades clear fingerprin­ts, achievemen­ts and excellence in all fields — military, security, administra­tive, medical and technical, the pillars of which were laid down by my dear brother His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the National Guard Chief, wishing him great health and care,” HH the Amir said.

“We remember with admiration and pride Sheikh Salem’s journey, which culminated in this military-security institutio­n, reaching a distinguis­hed position among the relevant authoritie­s at all levels: Local, regional and

internatio­nal,” HH the Amir said, stressing at the same time the need to continue such excellent work so that the National Guard remains the vital role of support for the ministry of defense, ministry of interior, Kuwait Fire Force and state institutio­ns, especially those of a strategic nature.

HH the Amir commended as well the efforts that culminated in the developmen­t of various National Guard camps, including the shooting ranges camps of HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali, which refined the skills of National Guard personnel. HH the Amir also congratula­ted the opening of specialize­d clinics, dialysis ward and diagnostic radiology center at the new specialize­d medical center in Tahrir camp.

National Guard Undersecre­tary Hashim Al-Rifaie delivered a speech marking the visit of HH the Amir. Rifaie said on behalf of HH Sheikh Salem, Chief of the National Guard, and Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of the National Guard, and all members of the National Guard, commanders and forces, that “we express our great pleasure for this blessed visit.”

“It gives me great pleasure to extend to Your Highness the Amir and to the Kuwaiti people our warmest congratula­tions and blessings on the holy month of Ramadan, wishing you and our dear homeland and the Islamic world prosperity and blessings,” he said. Rifaie also remembered the Late Amir Sheikh Ahmad AlNawaf Al-Sabah. “We take this opportunit­y to renew our pledge and obedience to the leader of our country, His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces,” Rifaie added. — KUNA
