Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, was a main sponsor of the Kuwait Technical College (KTECH) coding competition for public high school students. stc’s sponsorship of the competition aligns with the Company’s objectives behind its educational ‘upgrade’ initiative which aims to enhance the quality of education in the community, as well as the recently formed strategic collaboration with KTECH.

The coding competition included training sessions that were held on March 5th and 6th, as well as the final competition that took place on March 9th, where the winners were announced. Over 30 public high schools participated in the competition, providing students with a chance to utilize the specially designed initiative to boost their problem solving and coding skills through the programming language Python.

As a main sponsor of this competition, and in line with the recent MoU signed with KTECH, stc presented awards to the students that placed in the top positions of the competition. The Company’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting the local educational initiatives, and providing platforms to students that can empower their skills and showcase their abilities to excel across various fields.

Danah AlJasem, General Manager of Corporate Communications at stc, said, “Our role as a main sponsor in this initiative comes as a reflection of the level of empowerment we aspire for the future generation, especially within the digital world. We are thrilled to have witnessed students showcase their best coding abilities throughout this competition and are proud to see the level of sophistication they possess within this programming language. Such competitions serve as the core of our educational ‘upgrade’ initiative, providing students with an opportunity to learn and implement their knowledge in a competitive environment.”

AlJasem added, “On behalf of stc, I would like to congratulate the winners of the competition and thank all the students who participated in the coding competition for their effort. Additionally, I would like to extend a special thanks to KTECH for organizing the competition which comes as one of the initiatives under our strategic collaboration for the year 2024.

stc highly values the importance of being an active contributor to the community, as it is through initiatives like these that we provide additional educational platforms that students can participate in to discover their skills and areas of interest. We look forward to participating in similar initiatives that will support the community in various ways and strengthen the initiatives organized under the educational pillar of our extensive corporate social responsibility program.”
