‘Arena Challenge’ promotes community values, sports
KUWAIT: The Kuwait Youth Public Authority stressed its keenness to build partnerships and strengthen cooperation with state institutions, civil society and entities in the private sector with direct ties to youth. The authority affirmed its commitment to supporting all initiatives related to the social, health, sports, cultural and educational aspects of youths’ lives as these initiatives play an important role in youth development.
The commitment comes on the sidelines of the “Arena Challenge” event, which was held for 10 days under the auspices of the youth authority at 360 mall. Official spokesperson of the youth public authority Asrar Al-Ansari said in a press statement Friday after the conclusion of the event that activ
ities such as the “Arena Challenge” promote community values and encourage the practice of sports among all members of society, especially youth. Ansari said the event witnessed the attendance of more than 10,000 participants over the ten days. It included sports competitions and challenges and a series of educational roundtables that dealt with topics of interest to young people such as sports, types of injuries, weight loss, healthy nutrition and other matters related to sports and health.
She explained that the authority considers community partnerships one of the most important tools to achieve its vision in empowering and developing youth, praising the fruitful cooperation with the organizers of the event and their efforts in making it a success. One of the organizers of the event, Bashayer Al-Bader, said in a press statement that sports activities — namely walking and jogging — and daily lectures provided by participating medical staff targeted all age groups of both sexes. The event organizers designated one hour every day during the event for women only, while another was open to all. In addition to allocating an area for children to enable families to participate and enjoy the event.
She pointed out that all the daily sports classes were provided under the supervision of specialized trainers, which made them a great success and ensured the event achieved its goals. She thanked all parties supporting the event, foremost of which the youth authority.
