Zain celebrates Girgian at Social Care Centers
Annual event brought joy to foster care children, special needs individuals, the elderly
KUWAIT: As it does every year, Zain hosted its special Girgian celebration (traditional candy distribution) in partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs’ Social Care Centers and the Public Authority for Disability Affairs. The annual event, which came under the Zain Alshuhoor Ramadan campaign, brought joy to residents of the Social Care Centers, including foster care children, people with special needs, and elderly individuals.
The event was attended by the Director General of the Public Authority for Disability Affairs Alhumaidi Al Mutairi, Zain Kuwait Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer Waleed Al Khashti, Honorary President of the Kuwait Disabled Sport Club Sheikha Sheikha Al Abdullah Al Sabah, officials from the three partners, and the centers’ administrative and medical staff.
Zain is proud to partner with the Social Care Centers and the Public Authority for Disability Affairs every year to make this event a success as part of its annual Ramadan campaign, Zain Alshuhoor. Through this collaboration, the company shares the joys of Girgian, the much-cherished
local candy distribution tradition, with foster care children, people with special needs, and the elderly who reside within the care centers. The event witnessed special theatrical and traditional segments presented by the residents of the centers and other participating entities.
During the event, Zain’s team joined in distributing candy, gifts, and toys in an atmosphere that was full of joy and happiness. The company believes the Holy Month of Ramadan is a special time of the year, and it is always keen on sharing the blessings of this time with everyone, most importantly those cherished segments of the community. This year, six of Zain’s strategic community partners, including the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Public Authority for Disability Affairs, join its annual Ramadan social campaign, Zain Alshuhoor. The campaign features a wide range of humanitarian, charitable, social, religious, health, and sports programs that continue throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Zain Alshuhoor is one of Kuwait’s biggest and most successful community programs during the
Holy Month. Every year, the company introduces a bigger, renewed version of the campaign that expands upon the previous year’s initiatives and programs. The campaign strives to share the blessings of this holy month with the entire Kuwaiti people.
