5 BAR TRENDS YOU SHOULD KEEP IN MIND FOR 2017
Timo Janse, international celebrity bartender, manager of Door 74, owner of Perfect Serve Bar show Amsterdam, secretary of Dutch IBA, and organizer of the Amsterdam Cocktail Week, highlights bar trends for the coming year:
1. More simplicity
While there are bars that keep doing stranger and stranger drinks, there is a growing need for bars offering simple, but good drinks.
2. Lower alcoholic cocktails
This is a trend that keeps on expanding year after year. It relates to both the non-alcoholic drinks market, as well as fortified wines, beer cocktails etc.
3. More use of local spirits and ingredients
Making cocktails more genuine and creative.
4. Fewer ingredients, but with a delicate balance
This improves the taste and enhances flavors.
5. Less is more
Smaller servings, with a high quality for a lower price, so guests can try out more drinks.
