GCC TOURISM SPEND IN EGYPT WILL INCREASE 11 PERCENT IN 2020
GCC tourists to Egypt will spend USD 2.36 billion in 2020, an increase of 11 percent over 2019, with visitors from Saudi Arabia driving this growth, according to new data published ahead of Arabian Travel Market 2020, which takes place at Dubai World Trade Centre from 19-22 April 2020. Visitors from Saudi Arabia to Egypt made 1,410 trips in 2019 with a forecast of 1.8 million tourists by 2024, a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 5 percent. In terms of tourism expenditure. Saudi Arabian visitors spent USD 633 million in 2019 which is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 11 percent through to 2024, reaching USD 1.13 billion, according to Colliers International research commissioned by the organiser of ATM, Reed Travel Exhibitions.
