WHERE TO EAT

-

The northern city is known for its sweets, so don’t leave the city without sampling them. Abdul Rahman Hallab (06 444445, Riad El Solh Street, hallab. com.lb) has been around since 1881 and you can eat inside their atmospheric setting; two others popular among locals include the bustling Al Elmawi, located in the middle of the Old Souk and Al Thoum (Zahrieh.) If you’re hungry, head for Dannoun Restaurant (06 433987, Azmi Street) for falafel, foul and hommos.
