In July 2015, the Naameh land­fill in Le­banon was closed, af­ter ac­cu­mu­lat­ing eight times its waste ca­pac­ity. Trash soon be­gan to over­whelm the streets and river­banks of Beirut and Mount Le­banon, re­sult­ing in a se­ries of civil protests. More than six months on and with no gov­ern­men­tal waste man­age­ment so­lu­tion in sight, es­tab­lished and new NGOS and re­cy­cling ini­tia­tives have stepped in. We speak to four re­cy­cling am­bas­sadors who are fight­ing for a more sus­tain­able fu­ture in Le­banon
