If you’re interested in learning calligraphy, Hawila offers workshops in riqa’ script. It’s a form of calligraphy that dates back to the 10th Century, its name coming from the Arabic word ruq’a meaning a piece of cloth – because it was once written on small pieces to petition the royal rule.
