Wander and wonder
Gibran Khalil Gibran once said: “We wanderers, ever seeking the lonelier way, begin no day where we have ended another day; and no sunrise finds us where sunset left us. Even while the earth sleeps we travel. We are the seeds of the tenacious plant, and it is in our ripeness and our fullness of heart that we are given to the wind and are scattered.”
It has been an exciting year for Lebanon Traveler in more ways than one. Not only did we launch our new-look website, which we’re continuously fine-tuning, we also collaborated on a number of projects with a variety of organizations to further support our beloved country. With the aim of celebrating the beauty and diversity of the country, we created a series of postcards with talented amateur photographers and worked with Libanpost so people could send them for free to their friends and family in Lebanon.
We are grateful to you, our amazing readers, for inspiring and helping us grow especially over the past twelve months; and thus we are thrilled to share with you this, our final issue of 2018.
In our summer edition we encouraged you to embrace new adventures and enjoy the ride; this remains our mantra. Lebanon is full of endless possibilities and the season ahead brings with it fresh and exciting experiences.
We traveled up and down the country to find hidden getaways and tried countless outdoor sports from snowboarding to paragliding. We wandered around art museums and explored ancient temples.
Our adventures took us to Bkassine, Saghbine and countless other places. We ended up in Beirut, where we warmed up at some cozy coffee shops and partied at the hottest night spots.
All that remains to say is that Lebanon Traveler would not be possible without the support of our contributors, whose wonderful words and photographs have enriched this magazine.
Let’s enjoy this incredible country responsibly and make it a season to remember.
