Being the co-founder of your own dental clinic, what advice would you give for those who aspire to follow their dreams?
I think it’s important to know your goals. But it shouldn’t stop there, you should also set targets and execute them. If you want it, you have to go for it. In the end, we regret the chances that we didn’t take. You’ve to build yourself a timeline of what you want to achieve. However, we shouldn’t be afraid to give ourselves a reality check. Taking risks is admirable, but we should also be realistic. Always think wisely before you act. If you win, you’ll be happy; if you lose, you’ll be wise.
What’s unique about FiftySix degrees?
The taste. The vibrant taste on the first sip electrifies the taste buds, giving them a whole new level of sensation. Yet, it calms them down with its smoothness to the palate, giving a warm and woody bitterness when you swish it around your mouth. Interestingly, it ends up with a fruity, floral and oaky taste, which makes FiftySix Degrees a really smooth and easy to drink whisky. The unique and extraordinary blend of tastes also makes FiftySix Degrees a remarkable whisky like no other. It is perfect for an Asian palate especially the younger ones! [laughs] Beyond that, the flaming spirit and boldness of the brand is also well embodied as the founder of FiftySix Degrees is a woman, whom is also Malaysian’s first ever female whisky blender.
Neat or on the rocks?
It depends. I like it neat when I’m chilling with a bunch of good friends, engaging in insightful conversations or when I’m determined to get the most out of a whisky. However, I do prefer it on the rocks when I’m at a social event, whereby sipping on a cold and chilly whisky definitely refreshes me and prepares me for all the fun and excitement.
Fiftysix Degrees started out as an independent brand in the midst of an already crowded market. How important would you say it is for one to take risks?
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. Great things never come to fruition if you’re in a state of comfort. We are walking now because when we were infants, we dared to take the first step. Life is all about taking risks. Just like FiftySix Degrees, it surpassed all expectations, in spite of all the fierce competition. If you’re not willing to take risks, you will never achieve your dreams. AM
