TUDOR
BLACK BAY S&G
In 1954, Tudor gained the seal of approval from the American architect Louis Sullivan, who stated that the form of an object must follow its function, for its Black Bay timepiece. What followed was a long line of ergonomic, legible, accurate and robust divers’ watches. An emblematic model celebrating 60 years of Tudor divers’ watches with extraordinary craftsmanship, the Black Bay with a yellow gold enhancement is dubbed S&G ‒ for Steel & Gold. The lines and proportions of the Black Bay are retained, while the dial, the winding crown, the markings on the unidirectional bezel, and the central link of the steel bracelet are bathed in yellow gold, exuding a more formal feel. Furthermore, the indices and the characteristic angular hands, known as snowflake, are of better legibility with its contrasting white against the champagne-coloured domed dial and crystal, adapted from the first Tudor divers’ watch.
