IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN
PORTOFINO HAND-WOUND EIGHT DAYS
Upon expanding its traditional Portofino Collection, which has appealed to those who discern the charm and virtues of the Italian way of life, the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days also carries a grey suede strap ‒ a first for IWC Schaffhausen, to correspond with the slate-grey dial with rhodium-plated hands and appliques; its soft yet roughened surface of suede is not only visually attractive, but also exceptionally comfortable to wear. Behind the clean face is a 59210 manufacture calibre that boasts 192 hours (or eight days) of reliable and accurate running. However, it is designed to run smoothly for nine days in the first place, so this guarantees a constant driving torque for eight days in their entirety. Besides its durability, the indexless balance has a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour. Together with the Breguet spring, it helps to make the watch exceptionally accurate as well.
