GOLDEN JUBILEE
Jaeger-LeCoultre breathes new life into the iconic Memovox Polaris from 1968
Unveiled in 1968, the Memovox Polaris diving watch by JaegerLeCoultre was acclaimed for its impressive alarm function and patented triple case-back system designed to optimise the diffusion of sound under water. Today, in celebration of its 50th anniversary, Jaeger-LeCoultre presents us with a special limited edition model, along with a full, new series inspired by the Memovox Polaris ‒ the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris collection, comprising a three-hand automatic, a chronograph and a chronograph world time, as well as two models with a stronger vintage feel: the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Memovox.
Perfect for today’s on-the-go man, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris collection channels the best of the Grande Maison’s watchmaking tradition and its attention to detail, while creating a contemporary, sporty yet elegant timepiece, with a vintage touch. The dial is distinctive, combining a mixture of finishes on three concentric circles: a Memovox Polaris-inspired centre with a sunray finish, graining on the outer circle with the hours and minutes, and an opaline finish on the rotating inner bezel.
The cases comes in proportions designed for an elegant sports watch. They feature an eye-catching combination of brushed and handpolished surfaces, with sharp, plunging lugs and thin, rounded bezels. The large crowns, emblematic of the 1968 model, have been redesigned for better grip. A newly designed three-link metal bracelet offers optimum comfort, while the straps are interchangeable for both alligator leather and calfskin. The latter is offered in both light and dark brown with an aged leather patina.
JAEGER-LECOULTRE POLARIS AUTOMATIC
This basic automatic timepiece introduces the JaegerLeCoultre Polaris collection, featuring the iconic two crowns, one for time setting and one for the inner rotating bezel. The inner rotating bezel speaks to the diving-inspired nature of the watch, simplifying the act of tracking elapsed time. The dual-crown layout is unique to the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris collection, making the watch stand out from the crowd. This sporty design, however, is tempered by its finishing, resulting in beautiful dials with three treatments ‒ sunray, grained and opaline. The watch comes with interchangeable straps, and a threelink bracelet that is all new for 2018.

CHRONOGRAPH
Jaeger-LeCoultre has an undeniable link to motorsports; its dashboard instruments can be seen in the most iconic classic cars and motorcycles. The 42mm Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph is the sportiest of the new line, equipped with a tachymeter bezel, which allows you to determine your speed over a fixed distance, perfect for days at the track or to check your own speed on the highway. The pushers have been redesigned for better grip, and the thin bezel helps to open the dial for maximum readability. The new model offers sharp contrast, allowing the chronograph counters to be read easily.
JAEGER-LECOULTRE POLARIS DATE
The link to the original Polaris is stronger than ever in this watch. Like the original, it uses the same design codes - the vanilla Super-LumiNova, the triangle along with trapezoidal indices mixed with four Arabic numbers, a railway track for the minutes - and features a date at three o’clock. Additionally, the case back is closed and features an engraving of a scuba diver, similar to the engraving that was found on the case back of the 1968 model. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date features the distinctive double crown: one for the time and one for the inner rotating bezel. It comes on a brand-new rubber strap with a Clous de Paris pattern. A serious sports watch, this surprisingly elegant timepiece is water resistant to 200meters.
LIMITED EDITION WORLDTIMER: JAEGER-LECOUTLRE POLARIS GEOGRAPHIC WT
Limited to 250 pieces, exclusively at Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques, the watch comes in curves entirely redesigned to evoke an air of sportiness for daily urban wear. The 42mm case houses the Calibre 936A/1, a mechanical self-winding Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre bringing a new feature to the collection: the geographic function. It invites you to discover the world through the 24 time zones instantly visible on the flange. For cities switching between standard and daylight saving time according to seasons, a white asterisk indicates the time with this one-hour difference.
The dial’s design highlights the two Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris colours: a blue subtly turning to black. This smoky blue dial gives the watch the impression of great depth. It is decorated with three finishes: an opaline base for the city disk, a sunrayed sub-dial housing the calendar at 2 o’clock, the second time zone at 6 and the power reserve at 10, and a grained finishing for the case back. The black and white day/ night disk indicates whether it is day or night in the local city.
REBIRTH OF AN ICON: JAEGER-LECOULTRE POLARIS MEMOVOX
Issued in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, this model features the special alarm function made famous by the 1968 Memovox Polaris. This 50th anniversary timepiece has an iconic three-crown design: one for setting the alarm (top), one for the inner rotating bezel (middle) and one for setting the time (bottom). Controlled by the alarm crown, the central disc turns to line up the triangle with the desired alarm time.
Keeping time and powering the alarm is the JaegerLeCoultre Calibre 956, a striking mechanism with a gong and jumping date system, a direct descendant of the first automatic alarm watch created in the 1950s. This is a rare example of a movement that has been in production for more than 60 years, continuously updated and modernized. Water resistant to 200m, limited edition watch is fitted with a brandnew rubber strap.
