CUSTOM HAMILTON TIMEPIECE FEATURED IN CHRISTOPHER NOLAN’S
Hamilton’s watchmakers, in collaboration with the design team from Christopher Nolan’s new film, Tenet, produced a custom-made watch with unique features that only Hamilton was trusted to bring to life. Over the years, Hamilton timepieces have played an integral role in various films. The Hamilton Murph, created for Nolan’s hit Interstellar became a fan favourite, and a clock designed for Stanley Kubrick’s iconic film 2001: A Space Odyssey influenced the invention of the world’s first digital watch.
Hamilton’s latest Hollywood partnership with Tenet reportedly involved extensive collaboration between the two teams. Initial conversations revealed that the film required a watch that do not currently exist in a commercially available Hamilton watch. After 18 months of technical development, testing and production, Hamilton found a way to combine the needed technology with the display on the dial of the new Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO.
Since the watch was only made for the film, the company decided to celebrate the collaboration with an inspired-by special edition. Cased in lightweight titanium, this special edition features a blue or redtipped second hand as a reference to key colours in the movie. Each version is limited to 888 pieces, the number chosen as a nod to the movie’s palindromic title.
The timepiece comes in a special packaging designed by the film’s production designer Nathan Crowley, featuring colours inspired by design elements in the film. “I’m always impressed by Hamilton’s dedication to excellence and their willingness to think outside the box to create timepieces that do so much more than tell time,” said Crowley.
FROM DREAMS TURN INTO REALITY
The Swiss watch manufacturer marks its next step in retail innovation by unveiling a virtual reality boutique in Singapore. As if visiting an IWC boutique in real-life, the launch presented all the opportunity to enjoy a seamless and comprehensive brand experience on the go. Advisors are available for consultation in realtime on weekdays for a more interactive experience and private e-appointments are also available for those who want one-on-one advice on any IWC watch. However, the virtual store is not an e-Commerce platform, hence purchases cannot be made on it
