WHY GO
This chic casual dining restaurant cum lounge boasts of a wide ranging yet affordable food and drinks menu to satisfy most palates, occasions and wallets.
The first thing that strikes you looking at the menu is the huge variety on offer. A good place to start is with a platter of freshly shucked oysters. Each piece is big and very fresh, offering firm texture and tastes of the sea.
Pastas are good here, in particular the scallop aglio olio. The linguine is nicely al dente and goes down a treat with the scallops, albeit the dish swaying too heavily to the spicy side.
For a porky treat, the big ‘ S’ pork ribs come highly recommended. This Black Market bestseller comes stacked with six meaty ribs that are so well-marinated and delicious that it’s good even on its own, never mind the accompanying specialty ‘black’ sauce. It would score higher marks if the meat is more fall-off-the-bone tender.
A good, sweet ending to proceedings is the apple cinnamon chill cheesecake. It is beautifully presented and has a scrumptiously light, foamy texture that deliciously contrasts with the apple cinnamon base.
