Mother to twins, Leo and Jade Siva

So what was it like, when you found out that you were pregnant with twins? Well, we went for a check-up to hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time and our obstetrician found two heartbeats instead. We couldn’t believe it and were absolutely speechless. It took a while for the realisation to really sink in. How has motherhood changed your lifestyle? Everything revolves around the babies! The house isn’t quiet anymore, in a very good way. Is it all you expected it to be? At the beginning, I didn’t quite feel like their mother; I felt more like a big sister. It took about a month for the feeling to materialise and when it did, it was everything I imagined it would be, if not more. What’s the biggest challenge with having twins? So far it’s trying to pacify one when the other is crying, especially when they are hungry because a hungry baby is an angry baby. What’s an average day with the twins like? They’re just approaching the two-month mark so their day mainly consists of eating, sleeping, and pooping at three-hour intervals. How hands-on has your husband been? I am so blessed to have an extremely hands-on husband. He does most of the night shifts with me because he’s at work all day long. Have your eating habits changed? I was eating very healthily after I gave birth since I am breastfeeding, then my midwife told me that the occasional cheesecake and chocolate was necessary to increase the quality and fat content of my milk. What foods did you enjoy or avoid? During pregnancy I ate lots of healthy Japanese food such as cod and chawanmushi. It was gentle on my tummy and packed with nutrients for my babies. I had a C-section and did not know then that chicken and eggs would slow down the healing process. As a result, my wound took slightly longer to heal. Any beauty secrets to share? I absolutely enjoyed Clarins pre-natal body treatments. The revitalising leg lotion is excellent for swollen and tired pregnant feet. My skin was also super sensitive during pregnancy so I used Kiehl’s Ultra toner and Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser.
