Black dresses (whether floor-sweeping or in LBD form), are par for the course when it comes to evening dressing. The challenge is how to give the look a fashion-forward dash of shocking while still remaining tasteful. Give predictable cleavage-baring necklines a rest and explore new erogenous zones to expose. Criss-crossing straps or keyhole cut-outs at the back of the dress can be unexpectedly sexy. But for maximum impact, don a clingy silksatin number with sections cut out at the hip or pubic bone; it is a tantalising reveal of flesh. Keep it classy by offsetting it with a high neckline and delicate gold jewellery.
