Experience the spellbinding music of Gustav Mahler’s First Symphony. A breathtaking composition of symphonic poetry, Mahler’s love for nature shines through this masterpiece brought to life by world renowned pianist Till Fellner, a protégé of Alfred Brendel. While Mahler may have had his greatest success in Vienna, as did Mozart, this month the magic takes place in KL with the MPO. Conducted by Claus Peter Flor, Tibor Kovác joins the MPO as lead violinist for an evening of riveting concertos. Experience the fiery passion in the work of Hungarian composer Béla Bartók and the sheer intensity of Dmitri Shostakovich’s masterpiece, both of which evoke the emotional power of political regimes past.
