Sweet Escape Jet-set Glamour at The Gardens Mall
The fashionable and fabulous go on a style adventure at The Gardens Mall.
Jet-set Glamour was the order of the day when BAZAAR launched a larger-than-life fashion installation hot off the press at The Gardens Mall. A celebration of the well-dressed traveller, the colourful model-standees focused on key looks and statement accessories out of Spring/Summer ’14. From Louis Vuitton’s embossed W bag and Gucci’s luxe bucket bag of ’70s chic to Hermès exquisite Constance bag in sumptuous leather, the philosophy of stylish travel was beautifully visualised. Also making the cut was the adorable Micro D-Cube bag from Tod’s, the classic Suffolk bag from Mulberry, a whimsical canvas bag from Versace Collection, and a perforated metallic bag from Michael Michael Kors – all styled by BAZAAR’s Jeffrey Yan. Guests relaxed in the resort set-up, replete with lounge chairs, cabanas, poolside umbrellas, and pristine white orchids. Sipping sweet mocktails they nibbled on canapés and exchanged travel stories before moving on to the installation area to take in the glorious fashion.
“I love the theme of Jet-Set Glamour,” said Asia’s Next Top Model winner Sheena Liam, whose BAZAAR cover debut was also on display. “It’s a great night out, and the fashion installations are simply charming.”
Incidentally, the guest list consisted mostly of global citizens – none more legendary than Malaysian-born, Paris-based rock star Dato’ Shake. But it was DJ Shazz, violinist Dennis Lau, and singer Russell Curtis who had everyone dancing to the beat that evening. Lau’s sexy renditions of “Happy” and “Counting Stars” were phenomenal, while Curtis paid homage to The Jacksons with notable covers of “Things I Do For You” and “I Want You Back.” DJ Shazz sealed the deal with a repertoire of classic Seventies dance hits.
