Jeffrey Yan’s juice cleanse dos and don’ts.

-

DO

Set realistic goals If it’s your first time, try it for three days instead of a week. Also, know why you’re doing it. Juicing helps clean up your eating habits and eliminates toxins, making you feel lighter and more energetic. But let’s be very clear: it isn’t a miracle weight-loss solution.

DO

Ease in and out of it For a couple of days before, eat healthier, smaller meals. Stick to fresh fruits and salads with eggs and grilled fish so your body can adapt to the juice diet. Do the same after to avoid overwhelming your digestive system.

DON’T

Forget your water intake When you’re already drinking so much juice, you might forget water. Drink more to flush out toxins and curb hunger pangs.

DON’T

Cut out food completely You don’t want to be miserable or send your body into shock. The key is to eat very light and clean – plenty of raw greens and organic fruits. They’ll also make up for the fibre that is not present in the juice.
