Harper’s Bazaar (Malaysia)

Welcome To The Issue

-

In temperate climes, July heralds the end of warm days at the beach frolicking in turquoise waves – yet it also

signals the coming of a thrilling new season. This month, BAZAAR presents the best of Pre-Fall ’14. ‘Eight Till Late’ (page 108), explores a wealth of wardrobe ideas for the woman with corporate game. Make your

mark in sharp printed suits, exquisite knit dresses, and sumptuous boots of rich suede and leather. Next, Terry Richardson photographs ‘The New Neutrals’ (page 126) in a palette of elegant champagne, tantalising

peach, and the sweetest dove grey with cinematic 1940s flair. For a little celebrity inspiration, cover model Elisa Sednaoui Dellal styles her brand of ’ 70s glamour on page 118. The campaign model, actress, and new director established the Elisa Sednaoui Foundation in 2013 to promote creativity and cultural exchange. Its first workshop, which took place in Luxor, Egypt last April, was presented

in collaboration with education nonprofit organisation MIMA Music and the Makan Egyptian Center for Culture and Arts, featuring interactive songwriting workshops for children. The Italian-Egyptian beauty has also launched an exclusive summer collection for mother and daughter with Yoox.com, in support of the Elisa Sednaoui Foundation. Currently in post-production is her directorial debut, a documentary on love in the Egyptian countryside, but the film we’re waiting for is the one in which she stars. Directed by Alessandro Genovesi,

‘Soap Opera’ will be released later this year.

Till then, revisit the ‘Gilded Era’ (page 144) for the latest cultural hits. Be it the fascinating Charles James exhibition – breathtaking ball gowns galore! – at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York or planning

the hot ticket to catch at the George Town Festival 2014 in Penang, have a beautiful art-filled month.
