GEMS OF THE WILD

-

Having worked with Harumi Klossowska de Rola before, Caroline Scheufele, Chopard’s artistic director, approached the artist again to collaborate on four fascinating haute joaillerie pieces. Daughter of the late painter Balthazar Klossowski de Rola, Harumi has garnered international acclaim in the world of jewellery making.

It helps that both she and Scheufele share a vision. “I was instantly attracted by the brand’s animal universe, which is very precious to me,” reveals Harumi. Continuing the theme of bestiary are two snakes, a panther, and a leopard. The highlight, a black snake, can be worn as a necklace or a bracelet. Its sensual curves are made of blackened white gold, while glimmering emerald eyes pierce through a head of brown and black diamonds to give the creation a life of its own. “She’s a true artist,” says Scheufele. “She designs pieces that are simultaneously strong and feminine.”
